Urgent medical assistance
Urgent medical assistance is available to everyone, nationals and those from overseas, regardless of whether they have regularised their situation here, but the Temporary Assignation Card is required to exercise this right.
If patients do not hold either card, they may also receive free health care from the Basque health centres. In this case they must fill in a questionnaire after treatment.
Urgent medical assistance timetables
Within the normal timetable, from 08:00 h to 17:00 h, health centres have a substitute doctor for emergency cases.
Outside this timetable until 08:00 am the following day, patients must use the Continuous Care Unit (PAC) de Las Arenas or Cruces Hospital.
Patients may also use the free telephone number 112 for analysis of the situation and subsequent instructions.
